The New School, Parsons – Transdisciplinary Design Program – Promo video

Since its establishment in 2010, the Master in Fine Arts program at the New York City campus has brought together practitioners from diverse backgrounds and at various stages of their careers who seek to critically reflect on and expand their artistic practice. The program understands practice as a combination of creative, research-driven, material, social, and expressive approaches through which students engage with contemporary cultural, social, ecological, political, and systemic issues.

Rooted in transdisciplinary methodologies, the program encourages exploration across fields and modes of inquiry, supporting students in articulating the significance of their work and envisioning new directions for its development. As one of the few MFA degrees of its kind, the program provides a distinctive environment for practice-based research, experimentation, and innovative inquiry.
