Troughout it’s years of existence Interzone had went through conceptual changes influenced both by the turbulence in music and by social and political circumstances, but it has kept the founding idea of the festival from the year 1997. Presenting artists who’s work pushes the limits of genres, ways performing and means of exploring the possibilities of music remains the essence of The International Festival of Actual Music Interzone.
Music in general is socially engaged in specific ways and it is an effective way of communication, hence it represents a statement about the era and the social context in which it appears. Interzone gives a wide range of differing sensibilities, explorations and notions of performers who contribute to the creation of the musical “space between” unique to our environment – our to the degree to which we are willing to listen and react.
