Jamrtal is a part of Stanisic, a village in the north of Serbia only 4 miles away from the Hungarian border. Jamrtal was first mentioned on 19th May 1925., but as Jamertal. Poor Germans settled there. At the beginning of the village there used to be a big pit – Jamuraca, where waste was dumped. There is a beautiful forest at the same place nowadays. In German, Jamrtal means “The Valley of Tears”. A few locals tell us about themselves …
